Custom Manufacturing & Engineering™
Will Produce a Renewable Energy System
for U.S. Warfighters!

Saint Petersburg, Florida , August 28, 2007
.

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida — Custom Manufacturing & Engineering™ (CME™), a company developing and producing innovative military and tactical electrical power systems and products was recently awarded a Phase 2 contract to develop the Deployable & Renewable Energy Alternative Module (DREAM). During Phase II of this fast-track acquisition program, CME will build, test, and demonstrate the DREAM prototype’s suitability for field-testing by the military.

The DREAM objective is to be a cost and energy-efficient alternative to current military electrical power systems that require diesel derivatives. DREAM will serve multiple types of electric consumers in all anticipated environments. With deployment of this new renewable energy system to the military, DREAM will provide electrical power and help to conserve the use of fossil fuels to the maximum extent possible. Wide use of DREAM by tactical units in the near future will help to reduce generator-based fuel demand and costs.

During DREAM Phase I, CME completed the DREAM concept and performed the scientific and engineering research and design. After completion of Phase I, CME was competitively down-selected to produce the Phase 2 DREAM prototype. Once the prototype testing and demonstration is complete, the Military will evaluate the unit. A production phase will follow.

CME's DREAM design is compact and easily deployable by a variety of lightweight transportation means. The unit can be towed or airlifted by helicopter. The lightweight, standard trailer-mounted DREAM is a turnkey solution that will combine solar panels with an efficient battery bank to deliver 3 to 5 kilowatts of clean AC power. The solar panels can provide direct power and also charge the batteries during sun light periods.

A leader in the development of improved power management and distribution products, energy scavenging and harvesting systems, and high-reliability power supplies for military platforms, communication systems, and phased array radar systems, DREAM now further expands CME’s product portfolio with a tactical renewable energy system.

CME specializes in effective, rugged electrical power solutions for the Department of Defense and for industry. Led by Founder/Owner Dr. Nancy P. Crews, the company is located in St. Petersburg, Florida and has been in business for 10 years. CME employs nearly120 people and is engaged in design, development, and manufacture of Improved Electrical Power products and Remote Sensors. CME has been recognized with local and national technology awards and is considered a leading developer of innovative Power and Sensor technologies for the military. A registered ISO9001:2000 company since 2003, CME is also an active participant in the Supplier Excellence Alliance (SEA).
